Left in Alabama looking to Draft Sparks for Senate
Ron Sparks excited a lot of us when we thought he would run in 2008 for US Senate. Maybe Alabama Dems can talk him out of his decision not to do it. Let's hope so.
"Fed up out here in real America"
This situation needs to be remedied, because the country needs what Democrats have to offer and it can't happen without flipping some red Senate seats next year. Let's put the Alabama seat back on the board. How do we go about drafting a candidate to run? First, talk to some people the candidate likes and respects, to get their ideas and hopefully get them on board.Gen. Wesley Clark is someone that Ron Sparks admires, respects and genuinely likes, so much so that he asked Gen. Clark to swear him in for his second term as Agriculture Commissioner. Clark endorsed Sparks last year, and campaigned for him. Clark's backing would be critical if Sparks takes on Sessions and it would also be critical to the success of any Draft Ron Sparks movement.
In normal times, the Alabama Senate seat would never be competitive, but it might be competitive this cycle -- with the right candidate -- because these are not normal times. We are fed up out here in real America.
